Jermaine Dupri, Creator of Global 14 Social Network

On Saturday, April 2, 2011 Jermaine Dupri held a Private Launch Party for his new Social Network: Global 14 at the Compound in Atlanta, Georgia. The private reception was held for G14 members and media to get a up-close & personal opportunity to talk to JD about the growing internet community.

Global 14 was developed by Jermaine Dupri himself. He refers to it as “the coolest; hippest city on the internet.” Although we know Dupri as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry, Global 14 is more than that. G14 is about interacting with people, socializing, and getting to know one another all across the world. According to JD, “Global 14 was created because of the increasing trend of ’social notifying’ versus ’social networking’. Social notifying happens when people share information.”

How is this different from Facebook and Twitter?

Well, I’ll tell you… On those networks, people mostly post, as opposed to interact. The number of friends and/or followers you have seems to be more important to people than talking with one another and discussing events, situations, etc. On Global 14, JD will actually answer you back; have a discussion with you. That’s big, taken that he has a multi-million dollar business that he’s running, artists that he’s making stars, his own music production to handle, etc. This guy is a present day genius… Pay attention…

On G14, you still have friends and followers. However, responses are more immediate… Another major difference: G14 has a myriad of discussion groups that talk about everything from dating to music to education to music to sex. It’s a community within itself.

Celebrities that are already addicted to Global 14: Sean “P.Diddy” Combs, Monica, Mariah Carey, Kelly Rowland, Nelly, Anthony Hamilton, Bow Wow, and Dondria, just to name a few.

Continued success to Jermaine Dupri. I don’t know about y’all, but I have my Global 14 page!!! To get yours go to: www.Global14.com.

Don’t get left behind!!!

In closing, Jermaine Dupri made a statement:

“I’m trying to encourage young America to get more involved in what’s going on with social media and the tech world. I want to show them that we can use computers for more than just watching crazy videos, posting pictures, and reading about celebrities.”

Super Producer, Bryan Michael Cox came out to show his support of Global 14 at the private; open-bar gathering…
