Grand Opening of Drexina Nelson Photography Studio and 5 Year Anniversary Celebration
Celebrity Photographer, Drexina Nelson held the Grand Opening of her new DNP Studios on Saturday, July 17, 2010 in Atlanta, GA. The private; invite only event was to commemorate the success of former make-up artist turn photographer, Drexina Nelson.
Drexina has shot such clients as: Akon, TBoz, Ludacris, Kanye West, Mario, Byron Cage, Idris Elba, Oguchi Onyewu and Kandi Burruss, just to name a few.

REAL MEN COOK ATLANTA FOR FATHER’S DAY 2010
Just as Real Men wear Red and Real Men stick by their Children, Real Men Cook! What better day to demonstrate that real men definitely cook than on Father’s Day?! It was a great Father’s Day where real men cooked for charity.
On Sunday, June 20, 2010 Charity Atlanta held its 21st Annual Real Men Cook Father’s Day Celebration at the Georgia Railroad Depot in Atlanta, Georgia. Over one hundred men showed up to cook for the cause. Chef Jamika from the Food Network served as emcee for the event. The day also provided performances by Ruben Studdard; Jazz Musician, Melvin Miller; and Gospel Saxophonist, Angella Chris.
Celebrity tasters, judges and patrons visited hundreds of booths to simply get a taste of what the real men were cooking. The event also featured clowns and face painting. It was like a Taste of Atlanta, but with only Men Cooking!!!
In attendance were: Jerome Bettis, Erik Coleman (Atlanta Falcons), Ruben Studdard, Congressman John Lewis, Roger Bobb (Tyler Perry Studios), Chef Jamika Pessoa (Next Food Network Star), Leigh Torrance (New Orleans Saints), just to name a few…

LEGENDARY SINGER/ACTRESS, LENA HORNE DIES AT 92
Lena Horne, who was the first black performer to be signed to a long-term contract by a major Hollywood studio and who went on to achieve international fame as a singer, died on Sunday night at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York. She was 92 and lived in Manhattan.

According to WSB Radio, FREAKNIK TO RETURN TO ATLANTA – April 16-18 in Washington Park
(WSB Radio) — Could the spring break festival of students from historically black colleges and universities known as ‘Freaknik’ planning a return to Atlanta in 2010?
The website “FREAKNIK Atlanta” says yes. City leaders say ‘absolutely not.”

Lil Wayne gets year in jail in NYC gun case
Lil Wayne has been sentenced to a year in jail after pleading guilty in a New York City gun case.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper was taken away in handcuffs Monday to start serving his term immediately after his sentencing. He pleaded guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and admitted having a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007.
He’ll serve his sentence in city jails, not a state prison. He could be released in about eight months with good behavior.
Lil Wayne was born Dwayne Carter and has been one of rap’s most prolific and profitable figures in recent years. His “Tha Carter III” was the best-selling album of 2008.
His sentencing was postponed last month so he could undergo surgery on his bejeweled teeth.
